The answer chosen by the participants with 88% of the votes was the International Demand option. Given the reception of the survey, we consulted more sources to complement the results with some data on the mining sector and foreign demand.
According to the digital magazine of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, in a note published on February 25, 2022 on its web portal; lacamara.pe, realized that during January and November 2021, mining was the main contributor to the national trade balance, reaching a 64.6% share in national exports according to Minem. For this year it is projected that mining investment will grow by 3.4%, which should contribute and respond to current international demand.
